CompareTaux

Complaint process

Unhappy with something? Here is exactly what happens.

CompareTaux directs your requests; it sells no product. Depending on what your complaint is about, the right door is not always the same. This page tells you which one.
01

A complaint about the site or how your request was handled

A missed callback window, a request sent to the wrong team, a consent not honoured: write to us from the Contact page with your request number. We acknowledge receipt, document the complaint, and answer you in writing.

02

A complaint about a representative or broker

The advice received, a product sold, a practice: address the representative’s firm first, which is legally required to keep a complaints register and respond to you. We provide their contact details on request.

03

Recourse with the Autorité des marchés financiers

If the firm’s response does not satisfy you, you may ask for your file to be transferred to the AMF, which offers complaint handling and mediation. The contact details and procedure are published on lautorite.qc.ca.

04

Your personal information

Access, correction, or withdrawal of consent: the person responsible for the protection of personal information answers you within the period set by law. Further recourse exists with the Commission d’accès à l’information.

05

What we cannot do

Cancel a contract signed with a third party, or settle a dispute about a product: that falls to the firm concerned and, as a last resort, to the AMF.
